Cornerstone Academy
Therapeutic Day Treatment Program for Children
Our mission is to build and repair connection within the family environment to support children and families in crisis. We teach skills to build a new foundation that enables both the child and the family to thrive within family, school, and community structures.

Our Students
Cornerstone Academy is a day treatment program that offers services to children ages five through twelve. Our program is focused on children who have experienced complex trauma, and are struggling with behavioral, emotional, and mental health issues.
-
Our Program
Cornerstone Academy offers academics supported by Davis School District, and therapy that focuses on skills training including mindfulness, emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance. We take pride in providing an environment where “In this place, and with these people I feel safe.”

Our Families
One of the most valuable services we provide is collaborative work with parents and families in making necessary changes within the home environment to improve how they support a child struggling behaviorally and emotionally. We work together with families to ensure healing, support, and connection for their child.
Would your child benefit from our day treatment program?
Children needing day treatment services demonstrate behavioral problems severe enough to jeopardize the safety of self/others. These children are emotionally and/or behaviorally disruptive to the extent that psychiatric diagnosis may be applicable. They also exhibit social and emotional problems that may have a severe and negative impact on the potential for positive development and require intensive, highly structured, non-residential services to restore age-appropriate functioning.
What are the hours and format of the day treatment program?
During the school year, Cornerstone’s services are offered Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. This includes three hours of public education sponsored by Davis School District. The remaining five hours consist of therapeutic group sessions. Children in the program receive two individual therapy sessions and one family session per week.
Our summer program also provides therapeutic group sessions, individual sessions, family sessions, and academic activities. Summer hours are from 9:00am to 2:00pm Monday through Friday.
